Birds in Art 2013 Poster

I just received some exciting news today, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum has chosen my painting "Swimming Through the Colors of Fall" for one of the 2013 Birds in Art Posters. I feel extremely Honored, Thankful and humbled that the Woodson Art Museum would use my painting for this prestigious event.

This poster will be available the opening day of the Birds in Art Exhibit,

September 7th 2013.

I'm so excited! I received my notification that "Swimming Through the Colors of Fall" was accepted into the 2013 Birds in Art, held at The Liegh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. This will be my second time that I've been accepted into this wonderful event and I'm looking forward to meeting and reconnecting with all the Museum Staff and Talented Artists.

The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum has organized Birds in Art annually,
seeking to present the very best contemporary artistic interpretations of birds and
related subject matter. This year nearly 1000 submissions were made into Birds in Art
and only 94 were chosen. I feel extremely honored to have been one of the 94 Artists
to have received this great privilege.

Western Masters Art Show & Sale March 13th - 16th

Samarah Fine Art will be exhibiting 8 of Dennis Boyd's Geese Paintings at this years Western Masters Art Show & Sale held at the Best Western Heritage Inn, March 13th through the 16th in room 140.  This will be the first time that Samarah Fine Art has exhibited my work for sale in this event and I'm really thankful for the opportunity and look forward to seeing this show first hand and meeting many of the wonderful artists. SUMMER PASTURE

Summer Pasture  Oil  14" X 18"  Plein Air

I painted this piece in one of my favorite locations here in Montana

this past Summer. I really pushed the color while on location and the addition

of  Phthalo Blue to my pallet has really assisted my Greens.

I've been working on and off this piece for a while.
I found this pair of Chinese Geese while out at a private pond I was invited to this past October. I couldn't resist sketching and photographing them as they swam through the fallen leaves.
