The morning light on this Goose was too hard to pass up. I had a lot of fun finding the colors in the shadows and creating the luminous effect in the wings. Reflective color and light play an essential part in these paintings and these Geese are proving to be an endless source of inspiration.

This one has been on the easel too long. I was really happy to complete this one. I started the drawings for this last year. I had a blast testing out various textures and color harmonies.

These Sandstone cliffs are a common sight around this area of Montana. They are a wonderful resource for exploring light & shadow and reflective color.

This one was painted a couple of weeks ago near Fort Rockvale, Montana. I'm very excited because a well respected fellow Artist by the name of Bob Barlow wants to trade one of his paintings for this one. It's a true honor.

SOME ODD TREE THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

Some Odd Tree That Caught My Eye   16" X 12"  Oil

The Winter "Gorging" of the Madison River causes the river to freeze from the bottom and force an ice flow through the Madison Valley. This flow tears and shapes the Trees into very interesting shapes, Natures way of Pruning. I've passed this tree on several occasions because of it distinct and odd character, yet I finally broke done and gave it a shot. The painting is more for myself, a reminder of Natures Craftsmanship.
