Swimming Through Tranquil Waters

"Swimming Through Tranquil Waters" Oil  14" X 18"

I've been wanting to paint a Mallard Hen and work out the challenge of painting the unique qualities  of their plumage. The water was handled more graphically to create a subtle tension with the subject.
This painting will be available at : Gallery Interiors here in Billings.

Sun Break on Quake Lake

"Sun Break on Quake Lake", Oil on Linen, 34" X 40"
One of my largest, most fulfilling and challenging paintings to date.

On August 17, 1959 an earthquake in the Madison Canyon River Area, near West Yellowstone, formed Quake Lake. The earthquake created a massive landslide of about 80 million tons of rock, which stopped the flow of the Madison River in the Madison River Canyon gorge.
